Oni Press’ HIGH STRANGENESS Reaches Millions with National Advertising Support on SpectreVision Radio Network

More Than One Million Unique Listeners to Encounter The Fall’s Most Uncanny Comics Collaboration with Advertising Across 50+ Podcasts, Including Daniel Noah & Elijah Wood’s VISITATIONS, Mike Flanagan’s DIRECTORS COMMENTARY, Jim Perry’s EUPHOMET & Dozens More

PORTLAND, OR (September 4, 2025) Groundbreaking independent comic book publisher Oni Press and genre-distorting production company SpectreVision are proud to announce a new, first-of-its-kind advertising campaign in support of the upcoming HIGH STRANGENESS series – an all-new, highly anticipated, five-part experiment in comic book storytelling influenced by real, documented cases of paranormal phenomena beginning in comic shops everywhere this October.

As the first comics collaboration between Oni and SpectreVision – the Los Angeles-based production company run by partners Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah and Lawrence Inglee known for acclaimed feature films, including Mandy, The Color Out of Space, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, and many more – the monthly HIGH STRANGENESS comics event will explore the unifying threads that tie together otherworldly phenomenon like UFOs, hauntings, cryptid sightings, and inexplicable synchronicities across five decades of American history…

Now, following on from SpectreVision’s recent high-profile expansion into the world of podcasts with the launch of SPECTREVISION RADIO – a network of 50 renowned audio and video podcasts with topics ranging from the paranormal encounters and esoteric studios to film history and entertainment commentary – HIGH STRANGENESS will hold the unique distinction of reaching more than one million unique listeners per month via new episodic advertising across the entirety of the network’s portfolio with shows, including “Visitations” (hosted by Daniel Noah & Elijah Wood), “Directors Commentary”  (hosted by director Mike Flanagan), “Euphomet” (hosted by HIGH STRANGENESS contributor Jim Perry), and many dozens more.

“Quite literally, this new advertising partnership is one of the farthest reaching and most powerful marketing campaigns committed to driving readers to comic shops thus far attempted in the 21st Century,” said Oni Press President & Publisher Hunter Gorinson. “There is a huge conceptual overlap between the broad, passionate, and comics-curious audience that SpectreVision is cultivating for tales of the supernatural in the podcast arena, and the exact type of adjacent, otherworldly comics that we are bringing to the page with HIGH STRANGENESS. Our friends and collaborators at SpectreVision are endlessly creative, deeply driven and outsized in their ambitions to bring powerful stories to viewers, listeners, and readers wherever they may lie – which is why this program to reach more than a million new fans per month through the fall is so utterly unique and a massive boon to HIGH STRANGENESS. “

Fans and listeners can find programs from the SpectreVision Radio network on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever podcasts are found. As a primer for what awaits in HIGH STRANGENESS, listeners can also visit the SpectreVision Radio Live podcast feed for an encore recording of the SPECTREVISION x ONI PRESS: HIGH STRANGENESS panel recorded live at San Diego Comic-Con with host Jim Perry, SpectreVision co-founder and HIGH STRANGENESS architect Daniel Noah and his SpectreVision co-founder Elijah Wood, writers Christopher Cantwell and Chris Condon, cover artist Jock, Senior Editor Bess Palleres, and Publisher Hunter Gorinson:

Overseen writer, producer, and SpectreVision co-founder Daniel Noah and informed by his own uncanny experiences as a real-life experiencer of paranormal phenomenon, HIGH STRANGENESS will be published across five double-sized, prestige-format, ad-free installments, each chronicling a different decade from a rotating cast of premier comics talents:

  • BOOK ONE: 1967 - Acclaimed writer Chris Condon (Ultimate Wolverine, That Texas Blood) and Daniel Noah join Ringo Award-winning artist Dave Chisholm (Plague House) for an unexpected encounter with the enigmatic Men in Black during the seismic upheavals of the 1960s.

  • BOOK TWO: 1975 - Daniel Noah and acclaimed writer Zac Thompson (Cemetery Kids Run Rabid) and stunning artist Noah Bailey (Station Grand, Double Walker) journey deep into the frozen North for a convict’s dangerously unexpected confrontation with the creature known as Sasquatch.

  • BOOK THREE: 1983 - Eisner Award nominee Christopher Cantwell (Out of Alcatraz, Thanos) and Daniel Noah team with gripping artist Valeria Burzo (EC’s Epitaphs from the Abyss) for one man’s paranoia-addled descent into a world broiling with synchronicities that belie a grander, deeper, more disturbing truth.

  • BOOK FOUR: 2001 - by New York Times best-selling writer Cecil Castellucci (Shade the Changing Girl), Daniel Noah and rising star Chloe Stawski (Sapphic Pulp) details a secret project in a deep underground military base where psychic soldiers are about to unleash a shocking evolution in warfare.

  • BOOK FIVE: INFINITY - by Daniel Noah, co-writer/artist Christian Ward (Batman: City of Madness) and returning artist Dave Chisholm (Plague House) reveals the grand, unifying tapestry behind HIGH STRANGENESS in an ambitious, dimension-spanning finale.

HIGH STRANGENESS: BOOK FIVE by comic book superstar Christian Ward is set outside of space and time,” said SpectreVision co-founder, Daniel Noah. “It’s an extremely strange Kubrickian feel. I wanted the fifth book to really leave our reality. It'll be a cosmic experience unlike anything else on the stands.”

HIGH STRANGENESS: BOOK ONE features covers by Jock (Batman: One Dark Knight), Dave Chisholm (Plague House), Becca Carey (Wonder Woman), and Malachi Ward (Black Hammer: The End). Each ad-free installment of HIGH STRANGENESS will be packaged in Oni’s deluxe prestige format with cardstock covers, upgraded paper quality, and 40 pages of content – including a feature-length essay by podcaster and researcher Jim Perry (Euphomet) on the historical facts and documentary evidence underpinning the phenomena detailed in each issue.
